9 inches X 2 foot heat mat. Provides 85 degree heat for seed germination or rooting. The Ken Bar seed tray heater is a very good product to start cuttings because
it can deliver the needed heat that most other bottom heating mats can’t. This mat can deliver 85 degrees to the bottom of your tray for seed
germination or rooting. That’s good because often times the cool days and nights can rob heating mats of the necessary heat needed to transfer all the way through the mat
to the growing media.
Remember that the growing media (not air and not tray) temperature should be between 72 and 76 degrees. The mat gets
its power from a 24-volt transformer. That’s good because its low voltage. I get a little concerned about heating mats that are powered by
120 volts. These mats are always around water. High voltage, people and water are not a good combination. I’ve seen some 120-volt mats with no
ground wire on their plug. How smart is that?
This is a good safe
mat heater.
PS If you need more heat place insulting material under the mat. If you
need less heat, place spacers under the tray to lift it up from the mat.
